The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) at the University of Southern Mississippi will host a National Interscholastic Athletics and After School Safety and Security Summit on March 28-30, 2017. The main objective of the Summit is to address the key critical safety and security challenges facing high school administrators for interscholastic athletics and after school activities.

The Summit will provide a mechanism to share ideas, and explore solutions to develop best practices through addressing designated major safety and security issues. The target audience consists of superintendents, principals, athletic administrators, local law enforcement, school resource officers, emergency managers, fire/HAZMAT, facility administrators, and board of education members.

The attendees at the Summit will have an opportunity to participate in moderated discussions (round robin format) for each of the designated issues and participate in developing the 3rd edition of the Best Practices Guide for Safety and Security.
